Who is Jewelz?
Jewelz Hanssens is Head Hoopologist at Jewelz A Hoopz, and has been hula hooping since 2006.
Jewelz and her friend “hoop” started travelling together in 2008 and on that trip a strong bond was formed. Her hoop has spun her all over the world as a student, a performer, and a teacher.
Jewelz spins her hula hoops in many ways; through hoop dance, circus-style hooping, hoop choreography, “hooptales” (story telling with hoops), hoop fitness, ‘Hooptation’ (hoop meditation) and creative play. She adds hoops to her Laughter Yoga aka Hoopoga and is now teaching Jewelz A Kidz Yoga and yes, you will find hoops spin into that class too!
She is an accredited hula hoop and kids yoga instructor, and children’s coach with many years of experience. Jewelz has taught and performed hula hoops to all ages ranging from 2 years to 85 years olds, at a huge variety of events. Including:

Just as people come in all shapes and sizes, so do the hoops that Jewelz uses in her shows - mini-hoops, regular hoops, ginormous hoops, heart shaped hoops, tri-hoops, squoops (square hoops) and even pentagon and hexagon shaped hoops.

For extra pizazz she’ll light up your life with LED hoops. fire hoops, fire fans, palm candles and fibre optic whips.
She twirls with isis wings and silk fans as well.

She has worked with people of many various abilities, with the disadvantaged and in social circus in the NT and Asia.
Jewels founded Hoopy Happenings in 2010 - an annual weekend and occassional events that celebrate all things hula hoop! Find out more about Hoopy Happenings.
